Unit Overview

Introduce various word components to students. Demonstrate ways to modify root words by using prefixes and suffixes. Study common compound word types, such as compound nouns and compound adjectives. Discussing abstact nouns, phrasal verbs, and binominals.

Learning Outcome

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Understand how to use prefixes and suffixes to modify root words and broaden your vocabulary.
• Understand how to use abstarct nouns
• Understand how to use compound words, phrasal verbs and binominals.
• Learn how to apply the concepts to the vocabulary that you already have and deepn your understanding of word formation while broadening your vocabulary.
