Unit Summary

English Pronunciation is a way in which a word or language is spoken. Good English pronunciation is an essential part of good communication. If you don’t have a clear English pronunciation, other people may not understand what you’re saying.

M2010 Pronunciation Basics introduce students to the essential skills of pronunciation, including cosnants and vowels, intonation and word stress, and other aspects.

Learning Outcome

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  1. To differentiate between cosonants and vowels
  2. To correctlly pronunce diphthongs and monophthongs
  3. To understand consonant blends and clusters
  4. To master the function and skills of intonation and word stress
  5. To understand other pronunciation effects

Unit Tasks

  2. Read and review the supplement materials
  3. Watch the lesson videoss
  4. Read, review, and complete the teaching note
  5. Complete assignment 2, and review the answers
  6. Take and complete the quiz test

Assessment

Each lesson in this unit offers 100 credits, including:
